    This is 100% genuine kashmir saffron.It arrived today.When I opened it , I smelled it.It was a very strong smell.I searched on youtube for pure saffron tests and done these all.Believe me this is 100% pure saffron.You get another type of saffron called mongra saffron which is costly than this.So I called Upakarma Brand to enquire about same.They explained me in properly.Mongra saffron is processed many times before packing so its color fades.This saffron is not mongra saffron so this will have more color and aroma than mongra.I am satisfied with this product.I would recommend everyone to buy this. Another brand I previously used is Upakarma saffron which is also best but its mongra saffron.It will cost you around 350.I would recommend you to buy pure saffron.

    I’m a regular saffron consumer and have tried varieties of brands.this is the best brand I’ve ever used. it comes in air tight glass pot. this is 100% authentic saffron. it tastes slightly bitter (raw) and this is due to the presence of picrocrocin named compound. I consume it at night dissolving 4/5 strands in warm milk. It smells 100% genuine. Try it guys.

    I have been using Upakarma saffron for quite some time now and they are pure and original for sure and tastes good too. One thing I observed was that after we let this saffron soak a while in boiled or hot milk they don’t dissolve, u need to crush the soaked saffron for color. Anyway, u can take a pinch of crushed saffron in milk yo avoid this hassle.

    Yellow and red strands are mixed. But at this price we can not expect 100% pure and best quality saffron. It was smelling like some cough syrup which has diminished now. But again, low price is low quality. This same quality they are selling at double rate in another packing. So better to choose this one. Over all not a good product compared to price. Only compensation is that it is not a 100% duplicate saffron. So, if you need a saffron only for decoration purpose, you can choose it.

    Product packaging and aroma of saffron threads are amazing but when we put it in milk i doesn’t turns the milk to yellowish for making it yellowish we have to put approximately 20 threads of saffron after that a small bowl of milk turns to light yellowish.     I bought this kesar for preparing sweets at home. My experience is based on the fragrance and Taste. The smell is really strong even before opening the pack the strong smell filled the entire room.
    However, the color is very light but I guess that’s because of a genuine product. If you need dark yellowish color then It is written on the pack to keep the kesar in milk dipped for atleast two hours.
    overall, I liked the kesar very much.

This is now my preferred brand. I hope they never change the packing.Used this to make some Jaffrani pulao yesterday. This is not the annoyingly pretentious faux-antique tin packaging from a company that is a week old and tries to package like its a 100 years old. It is actually the cute imperfection of boxes from 50 years ago. The colors bleed into each other. Takes a bit of effort to actually align ans close the box again. They have clearly not changed the design since ages, nor should they. Charming stuff.3. Price:Solid value for money.     Saffron is quite popular and has varied uses, but it is one costly spice..!! So, use it carefully, not in large amounts. Otherwise, it could even ruin the taste of a dish, if its being used for culinary purposes. A pinch would be enough, in most cases.I am happy with the quality of the product..The strands are vividly red, evenly colored ones. Have used it for Biryani and in Lassi.P.S. Soaking it in warm-hot water (not boiling) will help extract the most out of each thread. Also, you may crumble or crush it before use, to help release the flavor.

Nice flavor and smell.The color takes a bit of a time to get trough once soaked in water or milk.I feel that is the real test of genuine Saffron.If it releasses color immediately, that might mean it to be colored unnaturally.The strands are thicker than the other brands available in shops.I bought “Azafran” from Spain a couple of times, they were the best I ever used but this one is a reasonably good quality and easily available.

    Should definitely praise the packaging. It came well packed. It came in a tin box with a cloth string bag. It has a strong aroma. I can not certify the quality of the product with just aroma and color. It is dark red in colour, got a nice saffron fragrance when opened the box. I tried adding it in aloevera gel, the color changed from green to golden with a nice fragrance. I tried adding it in milk, it’s getting that color but not upto my expectations. As far as i used the product I am satisfied and recommend to buy comparing the price and quality of other branded saffron.

    Our cooking needs saffron for Biriyani among various other food menus. If I had to purchase the same at kirana store very expensive 400-450 at MRP. I find this one very cost effective, yet one of the best when it comes to flavor. In fact I think the quality is better than the ones we get at the neighborhood store and at half the price. Very fresh and only a few strands can get the whole rice color and flavor to it. We also mix in milk while drinking. It imparts a really nice flavor to the milk.

    I have been using Upakarma for quite some time now and they are pure and original for sure and tastes good too. One thing I observed was that after we let this saffron soak a while in boiled or hot milk they don’t dissolve, u need to crush the soaked saffron for color.     I have used many kesar so far from different brands. At last I come across this brand so I order for test and I was super impressed with product as the scent was so strong that by opening the tin. And even you feel senses in your nose it’s quality was purest. They offer ₹1000 if anyone proves that kesar was unpure. And they give me some complimentary kesar sachet which was again an add-on.     I didn’t expect the packing would be so premium , loved it ! and about the quality I can suggest you a test:Put two strands in hot water and mix well, the water will get color and IF THE SAFFRON STRANDS LOSE COLOR THEN IT’S FAKE/DUPLICATE/ARTIFICIAL.REMEMBER THAT ORIGINAL SAFFRON STRANDS WILL NOT LOSE COLOR EVEN AFTER WATER GETS THE COLOR FROM IT.upakarma Brand easily passed the test that I did.Also thanks to upakarma for extra 2 free sachets.     It seems to me to be authentic saffron which is hard to find. Thanks to Upakarma It is Grade A Saffron which is the best. It comes in a handy container with a cute spoon. The stamens are a deep beautiful red and surprisingly long and sturdy. When placed in water they steep a yellow color as authentic saffron should. I like this saffron and will continue to use it.

Always a plus when you pay this much for such a small amount. These days good saffron is pricier than gold or silver. The fine golden box, the heavy, thick glass of the bottle, and the massive precisely cut cork (which resembles a vault door more than a stopper) all whisper quality.The aroma is strong, which points to freshness. My money didn’t go in vain.Before drinking it, I had a sip to test that if product is not reacting.1. Quality of saffron is great.2. Saffron is not at all coloured.3. Upon mixing it with water or milk, it diffuses or dissolves slowly which shows that it is real kesar.4. Packaging is classy.5. Jar is glass jar.6. Nice aroma.7. I did a patch test on my skin, when I used it with face pack. It suited me as I had no reaction on my skin.8.     Purchased this item for gifting, but ended up keeping myself.Item came in a nice glass container packed in cardboard box.The glass bottle has retained the freshness of the saffron strands perfectly.Strands were long and had strong heady fragrance.Colour is bright orangish tinge but when added to milk, curroes, desserts etc, the color is diffusing to light orange.I have always been using saffron from abroad and this was the first time I happened to order it from local retailer and I was quite impressed.

    Product packing is too good and scent is also nice, but i am little bit concern about the quality of thisproduct (Note: i am not sure since i am don’t know much about it) I put 2-3 string of it in warm milk and keept that milk for more then a 1 hr before consume that, but its not completely dissolve in milk. (check the picture). As much i know if it is original one then it should completely dissolve in milk.Aside It may be pure but i don’t know how to make sure whether its pure or not.
