Upakarma certificate natural Kesar is completely pure. I opened the package it’s fragrance spreads in air quality is better then other Kesar and best teste. I was a bit skeptical before I placed the order but when the product arrived and I used it, it was an amazing experience. I’m penning this feedback after almost 2 weeks and till date the scent and the flavour is intact. I’ve already used it on 5-6 different types of food preparation. From Thandai to Biryani (Pulao, Kheer being the other few) and it is really nice. Far better than the Baby Brand.

Upon opening I got a whiff of the aroma.

The main concern was the purity and quality of saffron.
I carried a few tests…
I put two strands in cold water. They didn’t release colour immediately…… slowly the water turned golden yellow and the strands also didn’t loose the reddish color
I took out the stands and rolled between finger tips….. they didn’t crumble.
Then I soaked the strands in warm milk. The color again diffused slowly …..over a few hours the color became deep golden and the milk became fragrant.
The strand when put on the tongue didn’t taste sweet ????
So all these….. Checks made me feel good about the product.

I’m a regular saffron consumer and have tried varieties of brands.this is the best brand I’ve ever used. it comes in air tight glass pot. this is 100% authentic saffron. it tastes slightly bitter (raw) and this is due to the presence of picrocrocin named compound. I consume it at night dissolving 4/5 strands in warm milk. It smells 100% genuine. Try it guys.

We use kesar to put in our traditional Indian sweet recipes and we are happy withUpakarma Kesar. It comes in a nice glass bottle and has a airtight lid. The Kesar has a lovely fragrance and it spread in the whole house when used. The Colour that it gives is also beautiful. Really lovely genuine product.

I must admit that I’m probably not enough of a gourmet cook to accurately judge premium saffron. I’ll give my observations, which is the best I can do.
First of all, the packaging is premium and gives the feeling that you’ve acquired the very best. Always a plus when you pay this much for such a small amount. These days good saffron is pricier than gold or silver. The fine golden box, the heavy, thick glass of the bottle, and the massive precisely cut cork (which resembles a vault door more than a stopper) all whisper quality.
The aroma is strong, which points to freshness. The strands are long and while, not broken and powdery.
And of course, just a pinch transforms any dish that you add it to.
